Privacy Policy

At “Beautiful Pakistan”, owned by Abdullah Chauhan, we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use our Beautiful Pakistan mobile application (“Service”). By using our Service, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

  1. Information we collect

    2. We collect only what the Service needs to work and to improve:

    • Usage and device information: how the Service is used (for example, the places you open, the routes you plan and the offline maps you save), your device model, operating system and app version, and crash reports.
    • An anonymous account: the app signs in with an anonymous identifier the first time it opens. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
    • A notification token, if you allow notifications, so we can send them to your device.
    • Your subscription status, if you subscribe to Premium. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never receive your payment details.
    • Your location, only if you allow it and only while you use the map. See “Location” below.
  2. Location

    3. The app asks for location permission only when you use the map. You can refuse it, or turn it off at any time in your device settings; everything except routes from your own position keeps working without it.

    • Your precise location is used on your device to show where you are, follow your progress along a route and warn you when you leave it. It is not sent to our servers, and we do not keep a history of where you have been.
    • When you plan a route from your location, your starting point is rounded to about 100 metres and sent, with the destination, to OpenRouteService (operated by HeiGIT gGmbH, Heidelberg, Germany) to calculate the route. The route is then saved only on your device.
    • Routes between two places in the app contain no personal information. They are kept in a shared cache on our servers so that everyone asking for the same trip gets it faster.
    • If you open the map outside the area the app covers, we record an approximate position, rounded to the nearest whole degree (roughly 100 km), to learn where coverage is wanted.
  3. Maps and offline maps
    • Map images are loaded from OpenFreeMap and are based on OpenStreetMap data. As with any website, OpenFreeMap receives your device’s IP address and the map areas being shown.
    • Offline maps and the trips you save, including the place details and photos needed offline, are stored only on your device. You can delete them at any time in the app’s Offline Maps settings.
  4. Weather

    5. Weather forecasts come from MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute). Our server requests forecasts for the places in the app, and your device reads them from our server. Your location and other personal information are never shared with MET Norway.

  5. How we use your information

    6. Your information is used to:

    • Provide the Service, including maps, routes, weather and offline use.
    • Improve and optimize our Service.
    • Understand user behavior and preferences.
    • Address technical issues and provide support.
    • Send notifications you have allowed, such as when a new place is added.

    We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

  6. Third-Party Services

    7. We use the following services to run the Service:

    • Firebase, by Google: anonymous sign-in, our database and app settings, analytics (Firebase Analytics), crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics), notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and the server that fetches weather. Photos are served from Google Cloud Storage.
    • RevenueCat: Premium subscriptions.
    • OpenRouteService, by HeiGIT gGmbH: route calculation.
    • OpenFreeMap: map images.
    • MET Norway: weather forecasts. No personal information is shared with it.

    These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

  7. Keeping and deleting your information
    • Information stored on your device, such as saved trips, offline maps, saved routes and settings, is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
    • Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in Firebase Analytics.
    • To have your anonymous account and the information linked to it deleted from our servers, contact us at the address below.
  8. Security

    9. We value your trust in providing us with your information, and we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect it. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  9. Changes to this Policy

    10. We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective once they are posted on this page.

    11. By using our Service, you consent to our Privacy Policy and our collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
